City Park Pond – Dredging Feasibility Study
City of Reading, Pennsylvania

F. X. Browne, Inc. prepared a watershed management plan and dredging feasibility study for the City Park Pond in Reading, Pennsylvania.  We evaluated options for pond restoration, including shoreline restoration, fish stocking, native plantings, and the addition of a sediment forebay.  We also created a bathymetric map and provided recommendations for dredging methods and sediment disposal.
  
  
Lake Needwood – Lake and Stream Dredging Project
Maryland – National Capital Park and Planning Commission

F. X. Browne, Inc developed a plan to dredge Lake Needwood in the Rock Creek Regional Park in Montgomery County, Maryland. Lake Needwood has a surface area of 74 acres and a 6-acre sediment forebay. The dredging plan included hydraulic dredging of 100,000 cubic yards of unconsolidated sediment from the upper portion of the lake and the silted in forebay.  We identified and evaluated sediment disposal sites and dredging methods. F. X. Browne, Inc. prepared dredging permits, design drawings, construction documents, and performed construction observation.
  

Shipshewana Lake Hydraulic Dredging and Mechanical Drying
Shipshewana, IN

F. X. Browne, Inc. performed a dredging feasibility study and designed dredging plans for the hydraulic dredging of 550,000 cubic yards of sediment from Shipshewana Lake. The sediment was mechanically dried on the shoreline using vacuum filtration. The dried sediment was trucked to a disposal site.

  
Deep Creek Lake
Montgomery County, PA

F. X. Browne, Inc. performed a dredging feasibility study and prepared dredging construction plans for the hydraulic dredging of 71,000 cubic yards of sediment from Deep Creek Lake. The sediment was disposed of in two areas of the park adjacent to the lake which was then used as recreational fields. F. X. Browne, Inc. obtained all required permits and provided bidding assistance and construction management services.
