Rivers Conservation Plan Implementation Project
Neshaminy Creek Watershed
, Doylestown Township, PA

The Doylestown Township Environmental Advisory Committee completed the Neshaminy Creek Watershed, Rivers Conservation Plan (RCP) with the support of several adjacent municipalities. The Township hired F. X. Browne, Inc. to complete the Phase II Rivers Conservation Project grant application and implementation project.

As part of the implementation project,
F. X. Browne, Inc. staff members:

  • Designed a Wheel Chair Accessible Nature Trail

  • Designed 5 Environmental Education Kiosks

  • Developed Educational Brochures for Placement at the Kiosks

  • Developed an Environmental Education Curriculum for Sixth Grade Students

The nature trail formalized a foot path utilized by local fishermen to access a portion of the Neshaminy Creek. In addition, an informal parking area was made into an official parking lot for trail users. F. X. Browne, Inc. designed kiosks providing trail users with an overview of the trails, historical information of the area, and types of wildlife and plants which can be found along the way.  We also created brochures detailing the environmental significance of the Neshaminy Creek Watershed.

F. X. Browne, inc. staff members participated in the development of an environmental education curriculum for sixth grade students in the Central Bucks School District, joining a committee which included Doylestown Township staff, teachers, school administrators, and employees of a local nature center and a local water supply company.
