F. X. Browne, Inc. Presents at DEP Stormwater Training

Lansdale, Pennsylvania – Dr. Frank Browne, President of F. X. Browne, Inc., a nationally-recognized environmental consulting firm headquartered in Lansdale, was an invited participant in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s  2-day Stormwater Training Session recently held at the Resort at Split Rock.  Dr. Browne lent his expertise to the Workshop as a presenter on “Integrating Site Design and Stormwater Management”.     Dr. Browne is a member of the DEP Stormwater Manual Oversight Committee.

Lansdale, PennsylvaniaDr. Frank Browne, President of F. X. Browne, Inc., a nationally-recognized environmental consulting firm headquartered in Lansdale, was an invited speaker at a workshop sponsored by Montgomery County Lands Trust and hosted by American Infrastructure, Inc.  “Get Your Head Above Water” focused on effective and practical greener engineering practices to meet new MS4 regulations.  Dr. Browne presented his firm’s innovative, ecosystem-based approach to stormwater management and land development for Stony Creek Farms, an Age Qualified Residential Development located in Worcester Township.  F. X. Browne, Inc. and partners were awarded by the Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia for innovative stormwater Best Management Practices for the project.

F. X. Browne, Inc. Designs Stormwater Plan for Largest Planned Community in Pennsylvania

Lansdale, Pennsylvania – F. X. Browne, Inc., a nationally-recognized environmental consulting firm headquartered in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, recently designed a low impact stormwater management plan for the largest planned community in Pennsylvania.  “Bryn Eyre”, a mixed commercial, industrial and residential use community is being developed on 3200 acres in New Morgan Borough, Berks County.  F. X. Browne, Inc. evaluated water quality impacts and recommended innovative designs to meet requirements throughout the planned 25 year development.

F. X. Browne, Inc. Assists in Planning the Survey of our Nation’s Lakes

Lansdale, Pennsylvania – Dr. Frank Browne, President of F. X. Browne, Inc., a nationally-recognized environmental consulting firm headquartered in Lansdale, recently joined with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in planning the surveying of the nation’s lakes at the Annual State Lakes Meeting held in Chicago, Illinois.  The survey will be conducted in 2007, and a report published near the end of 2008.

Award-Winning Stormwater BMPs

Lansdale, Pennsylvania Shandor J. Szalay, a Project Manager with F. X. Browne, Inc., a Lansdale based environmental consulting firm specializing in innovative stormwater Best Management Practices, joined with the Community Design Collaborative in presenting their award-winning design project, Overbrook Environmental Education Center, at the 2006 Urban Watersheds Revitalization Conference held May 19th at Villanova University.  The Overbrook Environmental Education Center project was among the top four projects recognized at the Conference’s Stormwater Management Awards Ceremony by the Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia.

F. X. Browne, Inc. Receives Award from the Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia

Lansdale, Pennsylvania F. X. Browne, Inc., a Lansdale based environmental consulting firm specializing in low impact development, was recognized by the Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia for innovative stormwater Best Management Practices in southeastern Pennsylvania at the Stormwater BMP Awards Ceremony held May 18th at the Academy of Natural Sciences.  F. X. Browne, Inc.’s recognized projects included the company’s development of a constructed wetland retrofit to treat stormwater runoff and filter parking lot pollution on the grounds of their Lansdale office at 1101 South Broad Street, as well as innovative stormwater management design for Homsher Hill, LLC’s Stony Creek Farms, an Age-Qualified Residential Development in Worcester Township.

Earth Day Event

Shandor Szalay, Project Manager with F. X. Browne, Inc. (2nd from right), joined with the Acting Secretary of the Interior, Lynn Scarlett (front, center), and other officials from The Montgomery County Department of Parks, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, PA DEP, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Fish America Foundation and Trout Unlimited at a ceremony in Montgomery County’s Lorimer Park, in the Pennypack Watershed, as part of an Earth Day event to bring attention to the importance of dam removal projects on American streams.

As the consultant to the Pennypack Watershed Partnership, F. X. Browne, Inc., a leader in watershed and stormwater management and stream restoration, recently completed the River Conservation Plan (RCP) for the Pennypack Creek Watershed in order to expand and revitalize watershed stewardship of the creek.

Dr. Frank Browne Speaks at Penndale Career Expo

Lansdale, Pennsylvania – Dr. Frank Browne, PE, President of F. X. Browne, Inc., recently spoke at the Penndale Middle School Career Expo on career opportunities in civil and environmental engineering.  He told ninth grade students what it means to be an environmental engineer, what education and training they need, and where environmental engineers work.  He also explained the job responsibilities of an environmental engineer and showed the students examples of engineering projects.

Virginia Scientist Joins F. X. Browne, Inc.

Lansdale, Pennsylvania – Dan Sweet, a Virginia scientist specializing in stream restoration, recently joined F. X. Browne, Inc. Mr. Sweet has over 5 years of experience working as an environmental scientist in five different states.  He has experience in stream assessment and restoration, low impact or water sensitive planning and wetland assessment and restoration.  He received his BA in Biology from Earlham College.  A member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Mr. Sweet received his Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech.
